We are the Brazilian Financial and Capital Markets Association, the leading voice of Brazil’s capital markets. Our organization brings together institutions from across the entire investment chain — buy-side, sell-side, and distribution — a unique strength that positions us as the most comprehensive and authoritative source of information and best practices for Brazil’s financial industry.

Today, more than 1,500 financial institutions are connected to ANBIMA, including banks, portfolio managers, fiduciary administrators, securities broker-dealers, and many others. Notably, over 300 of these institutions are full members, meaning they have an active voice in shaping the self-regulatory rules and participate in key discussions to promote the sustainable growth of Brazil’s capital markets. Together, our members represent 99% of the market — a reach that gives us unmatched visibility and influence.
What We Do
Market Practice & Regulatory Policy
We drive the advancement of Brazil’s capital markets by working with the government, regulators, and private-sector stakeholders to propose improvements that strengthen the financial system. We advocate for the Brazilian business development by connecting with key players both domestically and internationally, while closely tracking regulatory and economic shifts at home and abroad.
Self-Regulation
We act as a voluntary self-regulatory organization, where the rules are built by the market, for the market, and in its favor. These standards are set out in five Self-Regulatory Codes that cover the activities we oversee. Our technical teams also monitor compliance, supervise participating institutions, and offer educational guidance — always maintaining a clear separation between the teams that set the rules and those that enforce them.
Data & Analytics
Thanks to our self-regulatory framework, we collect robust data from more than 1,500 institutions, which allows us to return valuable insights to the market. All the information we disclose is calculated in-house, and we regularly conduct studies to track critical topics and support market monitoring.
Trends
ANBIMA’s cutting-edge research and market studies are designed to capture the evolving dynamics of Brazil’s financial and capital markets. By combining in-depth analysis with input from leading industry players, our reports provide valuable insights that help guide strategic decisions and promote a deeper understanding of market trends and opportunities.
Education & Certification
We are a key driver of talent development in Brazil’s financial sector. More than 400,000 professionals currently hold ANBIMA certifications, with our leading credentials covering portfolio management and distribution activities. We also invest heavily in continuous education for certified professionals and provide free financial education content to the general public.
