Anbima (Brazilian Financial and Capital Markets Association) and Febraban (Brazilian Federation of Banks) have launched a new training program to help financial-market professionals prepare for Brazil’s regulated carbon market and explore the opportunities it can create for financial institutions.

The program consists of five online workshops covering how financial institutions can structure, originate and intermediate environmental assets, manage climate and regulatory risks, and finance the climate transition, while incorporating carbon as a risk factor, pricing component and asset.

The initiative is designed to help market participants navigate this evolving landscape by connecting market architecture, carbon credit integrity, financial instrument structuring and financing criteria. 

The series will also address the broader carbon-market landscape, opportunities for the financial sector, climate governance, legal structuring in capital markets, and the links between carbon markets and agribusiness.

It also reinforces Anbima’s role in supporting the development of the carbon-market agenda within Brazil’s capital markets, helping institutions build the knowledge and capabilities required to operate in this new environment.
