FINANCIAL EDUCATION ANBIMA WORDL INVEST WEEK

Participants during World Investor Week 2025

Financial education is central to the mission of Anbima (Brazilian Financial and Capital Markets Association), which works to help people make more informed decisions about money and strengthen their relationship with financial and capital markets.

That work will once again be part of World Investor Week (WIW) 2026, a global initiative coordinated by IOSCO (International Organization of Securities Commissions) to raise awareness of financial education and capital markets.

From October 5 to 11, we will take part in WIW with a program in São Paulo for young people in socially vulnerable situations. The agenda will include talks and interactive activities on financial planning, everyday choices and people’s relationship with money.

The initiative is part of a broader educational agenda led by Anbima, which combines direct engagement with young people, partnerships with universities and social organizations, free educational platforms, volunteer activities and research into the financial behavior of the Brazilian population.

A broad financial education agenda

Anbima’s financial education strategy is built around different initiatives designed to reach people through a range of formats and at different stages of their financial lives.

Among them is Como Investir em Você (How to Invest in Yourself), developed in partnership with Brazilian universities to bring financial education closer to students and encourage discussion about personal finance and investment decisions.

We also offer ANBIMA Edu, our free continuing education platform, and Partiu Investir (Let’s Invest), a free online course designed to broaden access to financial knowledge.

Another important part of this work is the Anbima Volunteer Program, which connects professionals from the financial and capital markets with financial education initiatives developed in partnership with social organizations.

Since its launch in 2024, the program has directly reached 1,625 young people, with an estimated indirect reach of 4,875 people. It has mobilized 31 Anbima member institutions, 24 social organizations and 240 active volunteers, with an average satisfaction score of 4.9 out of 5.

The program also supports our participation in major financial education campaigns throughout the year. During Global Money Week, in March, we brought together 146 young people in São Paulo for activities focused on financial choices, planning and people’s relationship with money.

In May, during Semana Enef, Brazil’s National Financial Education Week, we took the initiative to Rio de Janeiro, reaching 221 young people from six organizations. Games and other interactive tools developed by Anbima complement these activities by encouraging conversations about money, choices and financial planning.

A global investor education initiative

World Investor Week provides an international setting for this work. Promoted by IOSCO, WIW is a week-long global campaign focused on investor education and protection and on showcasing initiatives developed by securities regulators and other organizations around the world. The campaign also encourages collaboration among institutions working on investor education at both the local and international levels.

The initiative has grown into a broad global network. The 2026 campaign is supported by 118 jurisdictions and 21 international and regional organizations. In 2025, WIW-related activities reached an estimated 918 million people through more than 8,500 events and initiatives worldwide.

For 2026, IOSCO is highlighting themes including investor resilience, scam awareness, the basics of investing, and young investors and the next generation. The campaign emphasizes not only investment knowledge but also financial planning, responsible debt management, healthy financial habits and the ability to assess information critically when making financial decisions.

Anbima’s participation in WIW is therefore part of a broader effort to connect financial education with practical decisions and reach younger audiences before financial habits and investment choices become firmly established.

Learning through experience

One of the activities planned for WIW will be the launch of a new board game developed by Anbima as a financial education tool.

Played in groups of up to four people, the game encourages participants to make financial decisions based on everyday situations involving education, work, purchases, well-being and planning. Sessions will be supported by professionals from institutions in our ecosystem who participate in Anbima’s Volunteer Program.

The idea is to turn financial topics into a practical experience that reflects situations young people may encounter in real life. Concepts such as planning, credit, consumption and investment are discussed through choices and their consequences rather than as abstract topics.

Participants during World Investor Week 2025

The game simulates a day in a person’s life. Players decide how to allocate resources such as time, money and well-being while dealing with routine decisions, such as studying, working, grocery shopping or going to the gym, as well as unexpected events such as damaged personal belongings or a pet becoming ill.

“Financial education becomes more powerful when it moves beyond abstract concepts and becomes part of people’s conversations and experiences. Escolhas em Jogo [Choices in Play] was created to encourage that dialogue in an accessible way, promoting reflection and the exchange of experiences among participants,” said Marcelo Billi, Anbima’s head of Sustainability, Innovation and Education.

The WIW initiative is expected to reach 136 young people, with support from volunteers from Anbima member institutions.

Research to understand financial behavior

Education also involves understanding how people relate to money.

Anbima conducts research to provide the market and society with data on the Brazilian population’s financial behavior. Our flagship study is the X-ray of the Brazilian Investor, which will reach its 10th edition in 2027.

The survey examines Brazilians’ relationship with money, savings and investments, generating insights that can inform financial education initiatives and deepen understanding of how people make financial decisions.

By combining research with educational programs, digital learning, partnerships and direct engagement with communities, Anbima seeks to make financial education increasingly accessible and connected to the choices people make throughout their lives.
