Publication offers recommendations to improve international meetings, negotiation and partnerships

Anbima is releasing the guide Navigating Cultural Differences in Global Business: How Culture Shapes Decision-Making, Negotiation, and Professional Relationships, developed in partnership with consulting firm Global Business Culture, to support market professionals working in international and multicultural settings.
The publication comes at a time when the international agenda is becoming increasingly relevant for the association. As Brazil’s capital markets become more deeply integrated into global discussions, we are expanding our dialogue with regulators, associations and partners in different countries. This reinforces the need to prepare professionals to deal with cultural differences that affect business relationships.
The guide was designed as a practical tool for the day-to-day work of those involved in meetings, negotiation and projects with counterparts from other cultures. The goal is to help reduce communication gaps, make interactions more effective, and preserve long-term professional relationships.
“Brazil’s capital markets are becoming increasingly connected to the rest of the world, and that requires professionals to have not only technical knowledge, but also the sensitivity to deal with different ways of thinking, negotiating and building relationships. This guide was created precisely to support that work and contribute to more effective, respectful and productive interactions,” said Anbima CEO José Carlos Doherty.
With a practical approach, the guide shows how cultural aspects influence communication, decision-making, perceptions of authority, tolerance for uncertainty and the building of trust. It also brings together guidance for recurring situations in professional routines, such as meetings, feedback, and other moments that can affect the conduct of business.
With this guide, we aim to expand the support offered to our members in their international activities and contribute to an increasingly qualified presence of Brazil’s capital markets in forums, debates and partnerships abroad.
